You scored as Ubermensch

You are Friedrich Nietzsche’s ideal overman. Challenging conventional morality and beliefs you overcome the nihilism of a world without god by utilising the will-to-power to create your own values. An artist by nature you express yourself in a distinctly Dionysian (creative) way.

“You are Friedrich Nietzsche’s ideal overman.”
That is just plain ignorant, even for a quiz. I’ll never understand what’s so hard about this concept that it has to be distorted into something more like the Nazi Superman, unless it’s just that people insist on using it without reading TSZ; N. makes it very clear that even the closest any individual comes is still far from the vision of the overman, and Zarathustra himself is merely a “bridge.”

Yeah, I kinda thought “Whoa!” to that little (or rather grand statement). I mean all the rest of it sounds grounded enough to count – but that part of the write-up needs…well, rewriting!
Still, this ain’t even fast food as far as philosophy stands; just a taster to get one to try the rest of the menu….

Even more weird is that I answered a lot of questions in a non-Ubermensch way, such as that I consider pity a virtue, you can’t justify misanthropy, humans don’t need a superior ruler like me, etc., but still got the Ubermensch result. I was expecting the Underground Man!

Hehe…do you mean Nietzschean Ubermensch or LJ Ubermensch? Cos I can see how the former could go either way in those responses……

        • MRDA says:

Well, maybe not in terms of pity being a virtue, but…you get the idea!

I certainly do. In fact, I had written this comment, and then deleted it before posting because I thought, “well, you know, it seems like it betrays a misunderstanding to narrow these things down to “non-Ubermensch” behavior”. Then I came back and reinstated it, because I figured you’d know what I meant anyway.
Looking at your results again, I should have posted my whole results, because I can’t remember anything else besides Underground Man being #2, and Ellsworth Toohey (!!) being number three.

    • MRDA says:

Though your point about the ubermensch has validity, I don’t quite see how this comes close to the Nazi misappropriation of the concept either.

Interesting quiz. I got Howard Roark. q:

    • MRDA says:

What did the quiz have to say about Roark?

I didn’t save the results. Let me go back and take it again…
Ayn Rand’s man par-excellence; you are not a very nice person, but don’t particularly care. Despite being the archetype for ethical egoism you have little problems raping women or blasting buildings with dynamite and hate pity in any form. One of your most notable characteristics is a peculiar inability to change, something your sycophantic friends often praise.
The part about raping women and blasting buildings made me smile a little bit. I’m pretty sure all the descriptions are a bit biased/humorous like that.
